A Fascination with Psychology Led to an Exciting Career Path

Growing up in Shaker Heights, Ohio, I eventually made my way to Los Angeles when I was 15. During my high-school years, I discovered my passion for Psychology, which led me to take an Advanced Placement class the following year. In college, I pursued a double major in Psychology and Media Arts, with the goal of applying scientific principles to create innovative media.

From QA to Product Design: A Career Journey

After returning to Cleveland in my 20s, I started my career in technology as an entry-level QA analyst at Dakota Software, an Environmental Health & Safety Management company. It was there that I became interested in UX design, and I began to study it independently. Pursuing a Masters of Science in Information Architecture and Knowledge Management with a focus on User Experience Design from Kent State University allowed me to delve deeper into the field.

Since then, I've worked with design firms like Balance Innovation & Design and Grand Studio, where I've tackled a myriad of design challenges using mixed methods. My experiences have led me to present at design conferences, take on apprentices, and write articles to share my knowledge.

A Passion for Design and Exploration

Based in Cleveland, Ohio, I work as a researcher and product designer with Grand Studio, a Chicago-based design consultancy. As a remote design consultant, I enjoy the flexibility to take on a variety of projects, big and small. Additionally, I run Artifacts Design, my LLC, where I work with local businesses and family and friends.

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, playing bass guitar, 3D printing, playing video games, and staying active. My passion for learning drives me to explore new technologies and design methods that add value to my work.
